Where did this come from?
We were so busy tut-tutting Miley Cyrus for her twerk-fest, we weren't prepared for bad news about Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
They've been married since 2000 and are now on the new cover of People magazine with the headline "Michael & Catherine separate: Their marriage crumbles."
It's a bit dramatic, since the story even notes that neither star has filed for divorce or worked toward a legal separation. However, an unnamed source told People, "They're taking a break."
As the magazine states, Michael, 68, and Catherine, 43 haven't been photographed together since April 22, they've walked red carpets solo, vacationed separately with their kids, and were recently seen thousands of miles apart.
That doesn't necessarily mean the union is crumbling, but an unnamed friend said stress has taken a toll on their marriage. They have dealt with a lot, from his cancer battle to her struggles with bipolar disorder. They have two children together (ages 10 and 13) and another unnamed friend said the couple wants the best for the kids, whatever happens. But hopefully nothing major happens, since those close to them still hope they can work out their differences.
So it's not exactly The End (yet). No split announcement. No divorce. Just two major stars on a magazine cover with unnamed "friends" saying things look bad. Thanks, "friends"?
