Josh Duhamel may become a dad any minute now, with wife Fergie now solidly in the home stretch of her pregnancy, but he still hasn’t quite come to terms with the idea of himself as a father.
The Scenic Route star made his uncertainty clear when he stopped by The Tonight Show on Tuesday night and confessed upon sitting down that he’s spent his summer “lost in babydom.”
“It could happen any minute,” said Josh of his son’s arrival. “It’s imminent.”
“I’ve got to tell you, I’m a little bit nervous. I thought that I was going to be good. I thought that I was ready for this, and I’m a little bit terrified,” he divulged.
While Josh has spent his summer doing dad-to-be stuff, like attending baby showers and prepping the couple's dog for the new addition, he revealed that he only recently came to terms of the magnitude of his undertaking. “I’m excited and I’m terrified, because I”m responsible for this little thing forever. I just got that.”
“So if this interview sucks, that’s why,” he joked.
While Josh’s nerves seemed rattled by the prospect of greeting his little one so soon, his fears were totally unrelated to Fergie’s maternity demands, which he admitted were few.
"She has really taken to [pregnancy]," he told Us Weekly last week. "It's unbelievable. It's been pretty [drama free]. She's happy, seems to be in great spirits, and is more beautiful than ever."
