Celebrity feedback continues to surface about Miley Cyrus’s performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. One of the latest stars to chime in is Paramore’s Hayley Williams. The lead singer of the hit alternative band shared her feels with 98.7 AMP Radio.

“It seems like more people are focusing on the trashiness or the dancing or the clothes. But I actually am uncomfortable with the racial aspect of it. I feel like she’s sort of taking a culture that isn’t really hers and sort of using it as an accessory, and that actually bothers me more,” Hayley said before adding “I know I’m a white girl...hopefully it’s alright for me to say that.”

The 24-year-old continued that she gets how 20-year-old Miley’s “crazy outfits” and desire to party is “all a part of growing up.” Still, someone should take Miley aside and explain the social implications of having the “black women on stage with her” appearing to be used as “accessories,” Hayley explained. Too bad Miley doesn’t have someone in her life with insight into the world of entertainment coughBillyRaycough.

Hayley drew the line at all out calling Miley racist, though. “I’m not going to be the artist that goes around throwing accusations that other artists are racist but I do think it’s a little insensitive,” she said.
