Fifty Shades of Grey casting continues to heat up, as three hunky frontrunners have apparently emerged for the oh-so-coveted role of Christian Grey.
Variety is reporting that producers and studio execs behind the film adaptation have recently met with three guys about playing Christian.
The three lucky actors are as follows: Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, Magic City's Christian Cooke, and Divergent star Theo James.
Apparently, the studio met with Christian and Theo but felt that they were both too young. The film is now rumored to be looking for an actor in his early 30s to play the role, rather than someone in his mid-to-late 20s. In the first book, Christian is 27.
Enter Charlie Hunnam, who has previously been rumored to be in the lead. Reports say that Charlie actually passed on the role earlier this month — gasp! — but that he is now considering accepting it and was said to meet with studio execs on August 23.
It's interesting that none of these three actors are household names, as the studio is apparently going with a less-established but still talented and on-the-rise actor for the part. Such names as Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, and Alex Pettyfer had been fan favorites for Christian, but they do not appear to be on the shortlist.
So would you be happy with one of these three hotties? Or will you be fit to be tied if one of them gets it?
