Justin Bieber is crying foul over reports that he dropped the n-word in a new single. The 19-year-old entertainer and his team told TMZ a video using the offensive term was posted to a YouTube account designed to look just like the Biebs’s.
To continue “the cruel hoax,” the uploaded song, “What She Wants (Official) 2013,” features an artist who sounds eerily similar to Justin singing lyrics the real Bieber insists he’d never croon. Unfortunately for the pop star, various media outlets reported the song as his, throwing Justin into the middle of a racially charged firestorm.
In the aftermath of the release, Justin has unleashed his record label’s legal team to remove any trace of the song online. And, despite that sounding like an impossible mission, a quick YouTube search tells us Biebs and his A-team of highly paid lawyers is making good headway.
Although the identity of the hoaxer remains unknown, TMZ reports the controversial song is credited to an artist known as Khalil Underwood.
The internet hoax is just the latest in a series of recent misfortunate events for Justin. First he was pulled over for driving without a valid license in California and then he was involved in a nightclub fight (don’t worry — his beautiful face emerged unscathed, though his white t-shirt wasn’t so lucky).
Fingers crossed trouble is behind Justin for now so he can keep singing his delightfully catchy, non-racist songs.
