Big Brother star Aaryn Gries must not have read her contract very carefully before she signed up for the show, because it seems like she missed the part about cameras dissecting everything you do and say — especially when it’s racist garbage that makes for ratings gold.
Now that Aaryn has been kicked off the show, fired from her job, and generally become the most-maligned woman this side of Miley, she’s on a mission to defend herself (while defaming the Lone Star state) and she’s bringing everyone out of the woodwork to help build her case.
Aaryn’s college classmate, Shawn Onyechi, a black man, denies that his friend is racist, and claims that their friendship is good, solid proof of that — despite hearing some of the cruel and derogatory language she used on the show to taunt castmates outside her own race.
Shawn, who was Aaryn’s Valentine’s Day date this year, recently tweeted, “Who thinks Aaryn Gries from big brother is racist? I've heard her comments, but personally I KNOW otherwise,” telling TMZ that his pal’s racism was all a part of her strategy to win the show.
“She never displayed herself as a racist,” he explained of his time spent socially with Aaryn.
As for her racist comments on-air, Shawn said, “It’s a game. Whenever you’re playing a game, you’re not always quite honest… It’s mainly a part of the game, I’d say. It’s just her doing her thing in the game.”
