In one of the most anticipated book-to-film adaptations to hit the big screen, Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl has confirmed another star for its cast. Starring in the movie, about a woman who goes missing with her husband as the top suspect, are Rosamund Pike and Batman Ben Affleck as Amy and Nick Dunne. But what about the rest of the lineup?
Well, besides having the best book-adapting director in the business, David Fincher (Fight Club, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network) onboard to direct, the cast is packed with star power. Besides Ben and Rosamund, Almost Famous star Patrick Fugit and mostly-TV actress Kim Dickens are on board. But more exciting casting news came today via Deadline.
According to the insider site, Tyler Perry, who has been a rumored get for months, has signed on to play Nick Dunne’s lawyer when the accusations start flying toward the town golden boy. Less secure in the process, but also reportedly in talks is Neil Patrick Harris, who is being courted to play Desi Collins, Amy’s former boyfriend. Word of both actors’ possible inclusion in the movie has been floating around for months, so we’re happy to hear that both talented guys are still in the mix.
Deadline says the film will shoot this fall, likely because of Ben Affleck’s super-packed schedule with his upcoming directorial turn on Dennis Lehane's Live by Night, kicking off his 2014.
