Update (October 21, 2013): We're wondering, a little sadly, if Jennie Garth's relationship with Michael Shimbo has already hit the skits. She appeared on Bethenny today and told host Bethenny Frankel that, after ending her marriage to Twilight star Peter Facinelli, dating has been "fun and awful all at the same time … It's like a weird type of torture, but it can be fun."
Add that comment to the fact that Jennie has made her once-Shimbo-heavy Instagram feed unavailable, and the outlook for this relationship seems bleak.
Original story (September 6, 2013):
If we learned anything from Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight books, it’s that once a couple gets together, they’re together for-ev-er. But while the werewolves “imprint” on their love and end up as soulmates, we can’t imagine spending eternity with our vampire loves — and neither could Jennie Garth, who divorced father figure Peter Facinelli in June 2013.
But while she has been dating around — and looking amazing, dropping 30lbs post-split — it looks like she’s got a new wolf in her den: Michael Shimbo. The actress has been spotted with the San Francisco-based CEO several times in the last few weeks, including out on a double date with former co-star Shannen Doherty and her husband.
Last week, Jennie and Michael attended the Comedy Central Roast of James Franco together.
In January, Jennie was linked to musician Jeremy Salken, but things must have fizzled out fairly quickly, since friends of hers told Us that the Shimbo-Garth union has been happening for a wee while now.
"They met through a friend. They've been seeing each other for a couple months now,” the source told Us of Jennie and Michael’s recent relationship. Another source added that "They are great together,” and a peek at Jennie’s Instagram would show that to be pretty obvious. “#luckylady,” she captioned one shot of her new beau. Several other shots are taken in Michael’s San Fran hometown.
Peter Facinelli, meanwhile, has been dating actress Jaimie Alexander since 2012. Despite rumors to the contrary, they are not currently engaged. Peter and Jennie have three daughters together.
