It seems that the Miley Cyrus backlash just can't stop.

The 20-year-old "We Can't Stop" singer was supposed to be featured on the cover of an upcoming Vogue issue, but those plans have been terminated following Miley's controversial VMAs performance last month, according to the Daily Mail.

Miley had already been photographed by Vogue to appear on the cover, but Vogue head honcho Anna Wintour apparently has put the kibosh on that.

"Anna found the whole thing distasteful," a source reveals. "She decided, based on Miley’s performance, to take the cover in a different direction."

Wow! This appears to be the first significant repercussion of Miley's racy performance, during which she was twerking up against Robin Thicke, along with doing nearly unspeakable things with a foam finger.

However, Anna Wintour isn't the only one who wasn't a fan of Miley's performance. Katy Perry recently dissed Miley's performance as well.

Frankly, we're surprised that Vogue wouldn't want Miley on the cover. After all, controversy sells, and you would think the magazine would be hard-pressed to find a higher-profile star these days than Miley.

After all, she's just being Miley, right?
