Wedded bliss? Patrick Stewart has made it so.

The 73-year-old star quietly wed his girlfriend of five years, 35-year-old Sunny Ozell, on Sunday, September 8.

The iconic Star Trek captain, who announced his engagement to jazz singer Sunny earlier this year, shared the news of his nuptials on Twitter in delightfully understated fashion.

Patrick uploaded a photo of the couple gleefully  lounging in a ball pit captioned simply, “Yes, married,” to announce the happy occasion.

The ceremony was officiated by Patrick’s X-Men co-star Ian McKellen, who posted a photo of his minister’s license on Facebook that afternoon.

While Ian had previously threatened to show up wearing “a white gown I bought in India,” joking, “you mustn’t upstage the bride,” judging by his sweet black t-shirt bearing the word “minister” he showed off on social media, it looks as though he may have gone in a different direction with his attire for the festivities.

“I did my part,” he admitted.

The couple's 38-year age difference is certainly dramatic, but not unheard of! While their 37-year age difference may raise more eyebrows than, say, Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas's 26 years, they don't hold a candle to Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris's 60-year gap. While their difference is comparable to Doug Hutchinson and his saucy child-bride Courtney Stodden — they're at 34 years — considering Sunny's in her 30s, it's much less of a scandal.

With Sunny being about 9 or 10 when Star Trek: The Next Generation premiered — making her in her early teens when Patrick was named the Sexiest Man on Television by TV Guide in 1992, when he was in his early 50s — it's still a little weird. But he has barely aged since then, so good for her!

It's not Patrick's most scandalous relationship, anyway — before Sunny, he was seen out with 25-year-old Lisa Dillon. That's a whopping 46 years!

He's married a younger woman before, too, when he tied the knot with TV producer Wendy Neuss, who is 18 years his junior. The marriage only lasted three years.

Patrick's first marriage was to Sheila Falconer, a choreographer. We're not sure how big the age difference was there, but considering the pair's children are about Sunny's age — maybe a little older — we're guessing it was negligible.

It seems as though whatever Ian did allowed the day to go off without a hitch — Us Weekly reports that Patrick and Sunny, fresh off the high of their wedding, flew straight to their honeymoon destination.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
