Under the Dome is finishing up Season 1 on Monday, September 16.
On Episode 13, "Curtains," "Secrets of the Dome are revealed and Big Jim is determined to put an end to Barbie once and for all. Meanwhile, Junior, Angie, Joe and Norrie discover who the Monarch is after receiving a shocking visit from a familiar face, on the first season finale cliffhanger."
It's a cliffhanger since UTD is returning for a second season next summer. Dean Norris (Big Jim Rennie) teased the Season 1 finale to TVLine. "You’re going to learn a lot about the Dome. It’s all very satisfying and it will make you go, ‘Oh, wow. OK, how are they going to play that out in Season 2?’ It sets up for a great second season.”
The CBS series is based on Stephen King's novel, but the TV show and book are barely related at this point. Expect more changes by the time the show reaches its ultimate resolution. “There is a final ending for Under the Dome that is different than the book," Dean said. "And when it was pitched to Stephen King, he said, ‘Wow. I wish I’d thought of that.’”
Good! We're ready for a different ending than ... that. It's just a shame the TV show is going all over the place in strange, convoluted directions (a fight club? seriously?) on the way to that ending. Hopefully it will all make sense eventually!
