Happy Endings fans rejoice! No, the show isn’t coming back for a fourth season but series’ alum Adam Pally has scored a recurring role on Fox’s The Mindy Project.

Adam, who played the delightfully dopey Max Blum on Happy Endings, will switch it up for The Mindy Project and take on the role of a new ob-gyn at Mindy’s medical practice. Adam’s character’s name is Peter Prentiss and he’ll reportedly replace James Franco’s dreamy character, Dr. Leotard, once he departs. No word yet on what Peter Prentiss will be like, but if we know The Mindy Project, the character will be in for some antics from Dr. Mindy Lahiri and co.

The actor’s first appearance will be Oct. 1.
