They're heeere! At last, you can listen to Glee's versions of Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" from this week's upcoming. Season 5, Episode 5: “The End of Twerk.” The November 14 episode revolves around everyone’s favorite backside-bouncer, and the hour is rumored to feature at least one Miley song — along with one song that will forever be inextricably linked to her. Hey, hey, hey.
The only Miley song to have ever been performed on Glee is when Rachel (Lea Michele) did an aborted “The Climb” in Season 1’s “Laryngitis.” And while there’s no official song list yet for “The End of Twerk,” Glee Wiki reports that the similarly named Marley (Melissa Benoist) will be performing “Wrecking Ball” during the episode. Let’s hope Marley keeps her clothes on for it, unlike a certain someone.
But “Wrecking Ball” is a pretty somber breakup song. Does this mean it’s curtains for Marley and Jake (Jacob Artist)? Actually, now that Melissa and Blake Jenner (Ryder) are a couple in real life, it would be pretty cute for them to get together on the show, too. No offense, Jake.
Also rumored to be performed is “You Are Woman, I Am Man” from Funny Girl, as Rachel gears up to star in the Broadway show. And we’ll be seeing New Directions team up with Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) for Robin Thicke’s ubiquitous summer smash, “Blurred Lines.” Sounds like things will be getting mighty sexy. You know you want it — with “it” being the episode, of course.
