Is Oprah Winfrey hurting for cash? Nope-rah. (We apologize for that terrible, terrible pun.) Indeed, she stands to make quite a bit of moolah by selling the longtime studio home of her syndicated daytime talk show.
The TV mogul is selling Harpo Studios in Chicago to a real estate developer, according to Chicago Business. However, the studio will remain there for two years, with the studio continuing to produce shows for Oprah's TV network, OWN.
"We have entered into a purchasing agreement with Sterling Bay for the four-building Harpo Studios campus in Chicago’s West Loop," says Harpo in a statement. About 200 people currently work in the studio.
So how much will Oprah be getting for it? Apparently, it's being sold for about $32 million. Not too shabby. Then again, that's a mere drop in the bucket for her, given that Oprah's net worth is estimated to be a whopping $2.9 billion. Yep, she's pretty freakin' rich.
These days, Oprah stays busy hosting a slew of shows on her network, including Oprah: Where Are They Now? and Oprah Prime. She also continues to act, having earned a ton of praise for her role in last year's The Butler.
Are you surprised by what Oprah's studio is selling for?
