Sorry, Karrueche Tran — your beau Chris Brown won’t be coming home anytime soon. Start shaking your head now, because Chris just admitted he violated his probation. His penalty? Another 131 days behind bars.
The 24-year-old entertainer appeared in a Los Angeles court earlier today (May 9) and admitted that he committed a crime while in Washington, D.C. last year. Since he’s still facing a misdemeanor assault charge from the same eventful trip to the nation’s capitol, we’re guessing the crime he fessed up to is violating his five-year probation from back in 2009 when he pled guilty to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna.
As a result, L.A. Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin sentenced the Grammy Award winner to 365 days in custody. But because Chris has already been in rehab and jail for 234 days, he got credit back. Think of it like when you refund a shirt at a store except the store is jail and the shirt has stripes.
Besides his 131 remaining days in jail, Chris will be on probation until January 2015. This, of course, is in addition to whatever sentence may come out of that pending misdemeanor charge. Chris, we just hope by the time your next birthday rolls around, you’ll be able to celebrate as a free man. Or that the jail will at least have cake.
