We know, it feels like you've just recovered from being inside the social incubator that is the titular dome surrounding Chester's Mill, Maine — but it's just about time to go back in. The hit drama series, based on the 2009 Stephen King novel of the same name, returns to CBS at 10 p.m./9 p.m. CT on Monday, June 30 with Season 2, Episode 1: "Heads Will Roll."

Set a reminder with NextGuide to make sure you never miss an episode!

When we return to the world inside the Dome, the characters inside — the ones who have survived so far, at least — face a new threat when it becomes magnetized. We should theoretically also meet new character Rebecca Pine (Karla Crome) for the first time, who, as a series regular, should play a major role moving forward. Mysterious!

The episode, written by Stephen himself, also features a cameo from the author as a diner patron.

If you haven't been following the series, Under the Dome follows a small, New England community as they're isolated from the outside world by — you guessed it! — a dome. At first believed to be some kind of natural phenomenon, the effect the dome has on the town's people and environment quickly points toward a more metaphysical explanation. Some citizens begin having mysterious seizures, for example.

One of the biggest mysteries about the dome, though? There's a weird egg that seems connected to the dome's existence, or at the very least its structure — and it, or whatever's behind it, is sentient, even attempting to communicate using the likeness of a dearly departed character.

Hopefully we'll get answers to some of these major mysteries when Season 2 comes back later this month! Will you be watching?

Under the Dome premieres Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT (9 p.m. CT) on CBS.
