Long distance relationships are tough, and it sounds like Eliza Dushku and Rick Fox didn't want to be a bicoastal couple. The 33-year-old Buffy actress tells The Boston Globe that she and her b-balling beau have split, ending a nearly five-year relationship.

"Rick’s an LA guy and I’m a Boston girl," she explains, revealing that she purchased a condo close to her hometown of Watertown, MA.

"I'd rather be a little physically cold here than emotionally cold in L.A.," she reasons. "I missed my town and I missed my family."

She also has intentions of going back to school somewhere in the Boston area.

After playing slayer Faith in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, Eliza had lead roles in the TV shows Tru Calling and Dollhouse. She also had a memorable performance in the cheerleading classic Bring It On.

Rick, 44, is a 6-foot-7 retired NBA player who played for the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Knicks between 1991 and 2004. He was previously married to 666 Park Avenue actress Vanessa Williams; they have a 14-year-old daughter, Sasha.

Eliza and Rick began dating around October 2009.

So sorry to hear of another Hollywood couple breaking up, but we hope it's an amicable and drama-free split!
