The night is dark, and full of sulfites. We already have Game of Thrones beer, and now its classy cousin is also getting into the mix. Game of Thrones themed wine is on the way, with enough varieties to satisfy even The Hound.

The new beverage line is called Wines of Westeros, and features 12 different varieties of whites and reds. The wines are actually being produced as a side project by Australian ad agency, Common Ventures, and are available for pre-order now, with international shipping expected in time for Season 5.

The style of wine was carefully matched to their respective labels, with Common Ventures’ Jane Burlop saying, “The reds are all associated with the houses that are head strong and robust. The whites on the other hand are more cunning, perceptive and mysterious.” For the curious, the reds are: the Baratheons and Lannisters are both Pinot Noirs, the Dothraki are a Merlot, the Martells get a Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Targaryens and Night’s Watch labels are a Shiraz. The white side of things are represented by Sauvignon Blancs represented by the Houses Arryn, Greyjoy, and Stark, as well as wildcards the White Walkers and Wildlings, while House Tyrell gets a Chardonnay all to itself.

While we’re a little disappointed there aren’t any “Dornish Reds” or “Arbor Golds” here, there appears to be a sufficient amount of booze to help us deal with whatever blows are dealt to us during Season 5!
