Say bye-bye Bobby Brown, because the 45-year-old entertainer has packed it in on his latest tour. TMZ reports the man who made parachute pants a thing has had to call off his time on the New Edition tour for medical reasons.
What’s wrong? His people tell TMZ Bobby’s had “an intrusive medical procedure” which requires he go under the care of the doctor and not live life on the road. Word is he’s so exhausted he couldn’t keep up with the rest of the group as they performed on stage. TMZ adds he actually left mid-show last week after “huffing and puffing” on stage.
Bobby has issued an apology to New Edition fans. “I really wanted to be with my brothers,” he says, “but presently I am unable to give the fans what they typically expect from New Edition.”
New Edition, of course, is the R&B/pop group that helped get Bobby’s career off the ground. The six-member group reunited in May 2011 and embarked on a tour earlier this year, which is set to conclude at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on August 3.
Rest up, Bobby! We hope you’ll be feeling shiny and, well, new sometime soon!
