Just days after being charged with vehicular homicide, 3 Doors Down bassist Robert Todd Harrell has checked into rehab.
People reports that Robert checked in to an undisclosed treatment facility following last week’s accident that left another motorist dead.
Robert was allegedly speeding on Friday night in Nashville when his car clipped the pickup truck of Paul Howard Shoulders, causing the truck to careen into an embankment and eject the driver, who was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The musician admitted to police officers that he had been drinking and taking prescription drugs prior to the accident and police reportedly found over 30 prescription pills stuffed into his sock at the time of his arrest.
Robert was held in jail for several days before posting $100,000 bond.
Ed Ryan, a Nashville criminal defense lawyer retained for the case, said that Robert was not sentenced to rehab, but rather voluntarily sought treatment following his arrest. "He was released on bond and immediately went and checked himself into treatment,” noted the attorney.
