Any serious Breaking Bad fans out there? Let us rephrase: any serious Breaking Bad fans out there willing to drop some major cash on a 1987 Toyota Tercel worth $500?
It’s not just any Toyota Tercel, you see. It’s the actual rust-red Toyota Aaron Paul’s character, Jesse Pinkman, drives on the hit AMC show. The scuffed-up hatchback is currently on display at Mike Faris Auto Wholesale in Albuquerque, New Mexico, TMZ reports.
Scrawled on the dusty windshield of the ride is the sign, “Jesse’s Car as seen on ‘Breaking Bad’...make offer.”
Pretty low-key signage for an item that’s sure to bring in a landslide of extreme bids. It’s both bizarre and fitting that the car has ended up there and not in a more decadent setting. Still, it fits the nature of the show, and the locale is not far from where the series was filmed during its five-season stint. Apparently, Mike Faris leased Breaking Bad’s production company the car for the duration of the series. Now that all filming has come to an end, the lease has expired.
Sony Pictures Television has advised Mike that he can’t even begin considering offers for the car until after the series finale of Breaking Bad airs this summer — let alone make a deal.
We wonder how drivable the car is at this point, and of course, how much it will go for. What would you pay to own something that belonged to your favorite TV character?
