Aaron Sorkin will write the screenplay for Sony’s big-screen biopic of late Apple founder Steve Jobs, he confirmed to E! Online today.

The film is based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of Jobs, and will star Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs, which is one of those bits of casting news that seems weird at first but actually kind of fits. Ashton, after all, isn’t just a pretty face and a fratty prankster
he’s also an enthusiastic Twitter early adopter and he has a whole second career as a tech startup investor.

Aaron Sorkin, on the other hand, is an immediate no-brainer. He’s carving out quite a niche for himself as the guy who writes the movies about the guys who make our tech stuff. Luckily, he probably won’t run out of over-the-top, ruthless geek overlord geniuses to immortalize any time soon.
