With the AMC drama about to air its final eight episodes this summer, the network is discussing the possibility of a spinoff starring Bob Odenkirk, according to Deadline.
Bob Odenkirk currently plays lawyer Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad, in which he uses his signature tagline, "Better call Saul!"
The potential spinoff is reportedly being considered as a comedy, given Bob's comedic chops, although it is undecided whether the show would be a half-hour long or a full hour.
Bob got his start writing for Saturday Night Live in the early '90s. He later starred on HBO's cult sketch-comedy series Mr. Show and has had a recurring role on How I Met Your Mother.
The idea of this spinoff has been percolating for a while, but it is finally getting close to fruition.
“I would love to see a Saul Goodman spinoff,” creator Vince Gilligan said back in July. Vince and one of the show's other writers would now be in charge of coming up with the spinoff's premise.
So will the spinoff really happen? Since we can't really imagine our lives without new Breaking Bad episodes, we're thinking this spinoff would be the next best thing.
