We're going crazy waiting for American Horror Story to launch Season 2 this October on FX.
Showrunner Ryan Murphy shared tons of great AHS spoilers in a Twitter Q&A on Tuesday, adding details to what we already know about the second season, subtitled Asylum. The story will be set at a 1960s sanitarium in New England that's run by returning AHS star Jessica Lange (playing a nun) along with Shakespeare in Love’s Joseph Fiennes.
"It's a completely new story," Murphy dished, with "not a single thing” in common with Season 1, “except some of the actors." Other returning actors include Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe. They’ll join AHS newbies Adam Levine, Jenna Dewan, Clea DuVall, James Cromwell, Mark Consuelos, Chloë Sevigny, Chris Zylka and Franka Potente, to name a few.
Here are more details from Murphy’s Q&A:
Q: "Is bloodyface a signficant element in season u?"
A: "Bloody Face is this year's Rubber Man."
So that’s a yes on significant! And we’ve already met him — sort of. Last month, Murphy tweeted a photo of Adam Levine next to a wall: “AHS exclusive: Two of our stars who started shooting today - - the multi-talented@adamlevine and Bloody Face!” Too early to plan a Halloween costume around this guy? Speaking of Halloween...
Q: "Are you planning on a halloween/christmas themed episode again this season?"
A: "Yes! The second episode is our amazing Halloween episode."
Q: "Is the ‘theme song’ from the opening credits last season still going to be used? It was perfectly eerie."
A: "We are shooting a new title sequence with the same team that did last year's. The song may stay...not sure."
Q: "How many episodes will this season have?"
A: "This season will have 13 episodes. 7 already written!"
Q: "Hi there! I'm dying to know if Jessica Lange plays a villain or heroine...Don't know if you are willing to divulge..."
A: "A little of both. :)"
She's a naughty nun, baby! Are you getting excited for Season 2? What are you most looking forward to? Catch up on all AHS spoilers and updates in this nifty archive.
