Brooklyn hipster and emerging artist/model Lana Del Rey performed on SNL on Saturday, January 14, and hers is being slammed as one of the worst musical performances in the show's history.
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams thought she had "one of the worst outings in SNL history." But that was relatively mild compared to what others had to say — especially in the Twitterverse.
Due Date actress Juliette Lewis angrily tweeted, “Wow watching this ‘singer’ on SNL is like watching a 12 yearold [sic] in their bedroom when theyre pretending to sing and perform #signofourtimes.”
Here’s another roundup of tweets, courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter:
“Lana del Rey has a nice voice & is GORGEOUS but she doesn't do it for me; her songs are too flat. I just don't see what the big deal is.” - @KingWithNoKrown
“Lana Del Rey's next song is called ‘Muted Television While People Brush Their Teeth And Prepare For Bed.’” - @ranggrol
“I love you but that was a HOT MESS.” - @MsPearlSnaps
But was it really that bad? Watch the video below and let us know:
We kinda dig the whole Nico thing Lana’s got going on. What about YOU? Are you a Lana Del Rey fan? Or is the name of her debut album, Born to Die (out on January 31), a sign of where her career is headed?
