What is Justin Timberlake going to do without him?

Andy Samberg wasn't feted on the May 19 Saturday Night Live finale. Not like Kristen Wiig. Still, when Andy and Chris Parnell aired their Lazy Sunday 2 Digital Short, it made it look like maybe the rumors were true and this was Andy’s goodbye.

Today Andy confirmed to the New York Times that he would not be a returning cast member on the next season of SNL. “It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,” Andy said Friday. “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”

Yeah, it's not a huge shock, but definitely a disappointment. Andy has been on SNL since 2005 and used the show as a great launcpad for the SNL Digital Shorts he made with his pals from The Lonely Island. Some of his most memorable videos included his JT collaborations on "Dick in a Box" and "Motherlover.”

Andy said he hopes things will work out well enough that they'll want him to host someday, like many past SNL alums. And it sounds like he and the Lonely Island guys may still get to contribute shorts to future SNL episodes. Still, SNL without Kristen and Andy? What up with that?
