Angus T. Jones’s public apology for his bizarre, religion-fueled rant about Two and a Half Men might have been too little, too late to save his spot on the show. Although the 19-year-old star will finish out the comedy’s current season, it’s unlikely that he’ll return to the CBS sitcom next year.

The 19-year-old star raised eyebrows earlier this week when TMZ released a video for the Forerunner Christian Church in which Angus describes the show as “filth” and urges people to stop watching immediately.

Angus has since apologized for his behavior and intends to keep filming (and keep earning $350,000 per episode) until the end of the year. Next season will likely be a different story however, as a source close to the show tells E! Online that the star will most likely not return if the show gets picked up for another season.

“You might see him for a few guest spots,” the source said, adding that it’s “likely” Angus’s character Jake will decide to go to college.

Right now, Jake is in the army and has only appeared in a few episodes of season 10.

“He won’t be in every episode,” the insider said. “How much they use him will be up to Chuck Lorre. The intention wasn’t ever for him to be in ever ep this year anyway. Now it might be less.”
