Anne Hathaway is apologizing for changing her mind at the last minute on which dress she would wear to the 2013 Oscars, according to People.
Anne had been planning to wear a Valentino gown, but she changed her plans suddenly and instead wore the pink Prada dress that we all saw her in.
"It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans," Anne explains.
"Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult, last-minute decision, as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself," she continues.
"I deeply regret any disappointment caused," Anne says.
Rumor has it that Amanda Seyfried's dress is the one that Anne was worried about hers being too similar to.
Anne apparently asked Amanda prior to the ceremony, "What are you wearing? Can you send me a picture of it?" When Amanda obliged, Anne was shocked and decided to go with the Prada.
Valentino himself was presumably surprised by the switch, as the designer had issued a press release notifying the public that Anne would be wearing his dress.
Of course, Anne might now be wishing she had stuck with the Valentino, as the dress she wore caused some controversy when it appeared that her nipples were noticeable.
And here we thought that getting to dress up for the Oscars was supposed to be a good thing.
