You could see this as a good thing or a bad thing.

Ben Affleck told People he has a great family, and the Argo director is inspired by where his career is now. His wife of seven years, Jennifer Garner, has put her career on hold to raise their three children. Sources who know the couple well told People both Ben and Jen are comfortable in their "quite traditional roles."

"Have you ever seen Mad Men?" one source said. "That's how he approaches [marriage and kids] — providing for your family is your priority, and raising the kids day-to-day is the wife's priority." However, when he's not working, he gets into full dad mode, out and about wife his family. "His wife and family are the best things that ever happened to him," one of Ben's friends said. "They have always come first and always will."

There's nothing wrong with a traditional relationship, it's just the Mad Men part that's sticking out. Anyone who has seen the AMC TV show knows those Mad Men guys are never faithful. It's not exactly the ideal set-up. But just as a reference to old-fashioned gender roles in the modern era, sure. Why not, if it works for you and makes you happy?
