Turning the ripe old age of 27 today, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara was spotted on the NYC set of her new film The Bitter Pill, opposite Jude Law and Channing Tatum. Tough job, but somebody's gotta do it!
Slated for release just before Valentine's Day 2013, the film recounts the trials of a young woman who uses prescription drugs as a way of handling anxiety before her husband's imminent release from prison. The Bitter Pill is directed by Ocean's Eleven helmer Steven Soderbergh and also stars the inimitable Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Rooney, who ousted Blake Lively for the lead role, was back on set and ready to go yesterday, after attending the Broadway premiere of Magic/Bird last week. She was seen with flowing, below shoulder-length highlighted hair... and not a bang in sight.
The filming schedule requires Rooney and some of her castmates to go to an actual federal prison in Otisville, NY to shoot. “It’s a real live prison, so it requires lots of special security,” a source cofirmed to the NY Post. Maybe this really is a tough job!
