Among the many snafus in Britney Spears' long and complicated road to the X Factor judge's panel (sidebar: we'll probably see her driving that road in an X Factor semi-truck in montage form when Season 2 premieres), is that pesky little conservatorship dilemma. Brit had been declared incompetent (by the courts) of making her own financial and personal decisions around the time of that whole head-shaving incident, so a judge placed her under conservatorship, meaning her father Jamie was responsible for all those decisions.
Unfortunately, Mr. Spears wasn't really looking forward to spending hours and hours on a reality TV set every day, should Britney sign the X Factor deal, so, Simon Cowell suggested her fiance/Hollywood agent Jason Trawick become her co-conservator. The Trawick-Spears clan ran this by a judge and, by George! It looks like Simon was onto something!
Jason is now legally granted the right to calling Britney's shots — meaning he gets the final say on inking the reported $15 million X Factor deal. Papa Spears is in full support, according to lawyers, saying he's "thrilled" with the judge's decision.
That's one step closer to snuggling in between Simon Cowell and LA Reid for Miss Britney!
