Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller is notorious for her hard-partying ways (and multiple stints in rehab), and it seems like the troubled starlet's image won't be rehabbed anytime soon. She was arrested late in the evening on Friday, Dec. 2 after assaulting a woman in a Colorado bar — and booked for assault and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. We'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she hasn't been moonlighting as a drug dealer, so this means that she must have been carrying a sizable amount of drugs.
According to TMZ, Brooke was found by police at a nightclub in Aspen, the unfortunately titled Escobar (big sigh), after assaulting a fellow clubgoer early in the evening at another bar called Belly Up (bigger sigh). She was charged with third-degree misdemeanor assault charges and felony cocaine possession — a tough rap for someone with Brooke's history of very public missteps. She was released from jail on Saturday morning on an $11,000 bond, and will have to appear in court on Dec. 19 to settle the charges.
People reports that a friend of Brooke's said that she "can't stay sober on her own. Maybe this will force her to go into a treatment center for a long stay. Thirty-day rehabs won't work for her." Brooke's rep denied the legitimacy of that quote, saying that "[a]nyone who is truly a friend of Brooke's would not be spending their time talking anonymously and behind her back to the media."
We're wishing her the best of luck with her legal battles and recovery.
