If you were to look up springtime in the dictionary, you'd likely find this picture of Jessica Alba.

The 31-year-old actress was spotted out and about yesterday, May 9, in New York City — just two days after she stole the show in a gold metallic Michael Kors gown at the Met Gala — in what can only be described as the world's most perfect spring outfit.

It's not easy to rock head-to-toe beige, but the mother of two does it effortlessly. She creates interest with multiple layers, a chunky scarf, and a wide-brimmed hat. But most important are the cream-colored wedges, which prevent the outfit from looking flat and frumpy. Had she opted for ballet flats, we'd be singing a completely different tune.

With all the celebrities jumping on the bold-color denim bandwagon these days, it's refreshing to see Jessica take a more classic approach.

Want to try Jessica's look? Start with a J. Crew linen sweater in flax over a crisp white button-down, and these Ralph Lauren Dover Skinny Trousers in seaport white. Top off your look a neutral-colored scarf, this Rag & Bone straw hat, and a pair of Vince Camuto wedges.
