It appears that Chaz Bono's motto could be: I got
you skinny, babe.
The former Dancing with the Stars contestant has announced that he has dropped an impressive 43 pounds since mid-November, according to People. His goal is to lose 80 pounds in total.
"I've been sticking to a really strict diet," he reveals. "It's not any type of starvation thing. I'm just cutting out a lot of stuff and eating primarily protein and vegetables and fruit."
Chaz — whose parents, Cher and Sonny Bono, had the hit song "I Got You Babe" — weighed 250 pounds before the diet, which prompted the show The Doctors to reach out to him to address the problem on the air.
"That episode was the most uncomfortable I've ever been on television in my life," the 43-year-old Chaz admits. "I had been wanting to lose weight. It was something I had been trying to do and failing at."
Chaz will appear on The Doctors again this Wednesday to show off his progress, but he acknowledges that continuing to lose weight will be tough.
"It's getting harder," he says. "I'm just kind of at a little plateau right now, which I think is pretty normal, according to my doctor. The weight was falling off at first, and now it's just coming off slower."
We might be seeing more of Chaz on our TVs in the future, as there are rumors that Chaz has been approached by TV producers to have his own dating show.
Best of luck, Chaz! We're rooting for you!
