Have you heard of the Chubby Checker app? It reportedly "enables women to estimate the size of a man's penis based on his shoe size." (Welcome to the 21st century, where technology is always being advanced in service of sex and porn!)
According to TMZ, "The Twist" singer Chubby Checker (born Ernest Evans), 71, is suing Hewlett-Packard and Palm, claiming they violated his trademark on the name. The performer sent the companies a cease and desist letter last year, but his demands were ignored, so he’s not only suing to stop the app, he wants money for damaging his reputation.
It does seem like they could be a little more creative and not just pick a name that is already synonymous with a well-known artist. Besides, is there really any correlation between shoe size and the size of a guy’s little gentleman friend?
UPDATE: A rep for HP told TMZ, "The application was removed in September 2012 and is no longer on any Palm or HP hosted web site.”
