Ever since the announcement that cult-hit Community was bumped from NBC's mid-season schedule, fans of the Greendale gang have been in a panic. The meta comedy's devotees started Save Community campaigns, wrote angry letters, and even organized flash mobs to save the show.

Today, at the semi-annual Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt reiterated what official channels have been saying all along: the show isn't actually cancelled. We're going to get the rest of the third season. Really.

“I wanted to dispel any notion that [Community]'s quietly disappearing from the schedule,” Greenblatt insisted. It "has not been canceled."

However, you shouldn't count on the show returning to its highly competitive Thursday 8 pm timeslot (which we think is a good thing).

“I don’t know if it makes sense to ask it to start off the night again," Greenblatt admitted, hinting that Community might even move to Wednesdays.

As for Season 4? Yeah, that's still up in the air: "We’ll make that decision closer to the upfront.”

Hopefully by the time the end of the season roles around, Community will have found a new, better, home in a more welcoming timeslot.
