Chely Wright is no longer "single" — and now she's about to become a mom.
The 42-year-old country star is expecting twins her wife, Lauren Blitzer-Wright, according to People. Chely is due to deliver in July.
“We’re excited to be parents, and we hope we don’t mess it up too badly!” Chely jokes.
Chely came out in May 2010, and she met Lauren, who's 31, just two weeks later. The couple got hitched in August 2011 in Connecticut.
“We feel like God blessed us with twins,” Chely says. “We feel our entire relationship has been blessed. We feel lucky and ready to take on the challenges.”
Chely is known for her hit singles like "Shut Up and Drive" and "Single White Female," and she has sold over a million albums. She is the first country music performer to have publicly come out as gay.
We wish Chely and Lauren all the best!
