It sounds like Dan Marino has been pulling off a quarterback sneak for years.
The pro football Hall of Fame quarterback — who celebrated his 28th wedding anniversary on January 30 — has admitted to secretly fathering a child with another woman in 2005, according to the NY Post.
Dan the Man knocked up Donna Savattere, a then-35-year-old production assistant at CBS, where Dan works as a sports analyst.
Donna gave birth to their daughter, Chloe, in June 2005, and Dan reportedly paid Donna millions to keep quiet and care for their daughter.
“They had an affair, and she had a baby,” reveals a source. “Everything was on the down-low and secretive.”
Now, the famed former quarterback for the Miami Dolphins — who appeared in the film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective — has come clean and admitted the relationship.
"This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then,” Dan says in a statement. “We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved."
Dan will be broadcasting from the Super Bowl this Sunday and maintains that he and his wife are still together.
“My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together,” he writes. “And we continue to be a strong and loving family.”
Dan apparently sees the now-seven-year-old child on occasion. Meanwhile, Donna married a different man whom she met in the Bahamas in 2009.
Should make this Sunday's Super Bowl a lot more awkward than Dan was expecting, right?
