UPDATE: Elton and David told HELLO magazine (via People) that they welcomed their second child, son Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John, via surrogate on Friday, January 11 in Los Angeles. So the NY Post story below was apparently just off by a day, since they posted it on January 10. Maybe they got the scoop from someone at the hospital, while the woman was still in labor?

Original story:

Well, this is a little odd.

Usually baby news is a happy event, but this one may not be an event at all. Earlier today, the New York Post announced that Sir Elton John and David Furnish had welcomed their second child via surrogate. Their first son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, was born in California on Christmas Day 2010, reportedly by the same surrogate mother. (This same lady is also said to have given birth to Camille Grammer's kids.)

Elton's rep refused to confirm or deny the new arrival, but the Post added that the rep was supposedly negotiating with Us Weekly for a cover story. Meanwhile, E! News got a quote from Elton's rep, who said, "Reports that Elton and David have had a second child are false." Is it strange that the Post didn't even get a denial, but E! did?

We know Elton wants a sibling for Zachary, but it's not clear if one has arrived yet or not. If they do have a second baby, congrats! If not, um, congrats eventually?
