If you work at a hotel and Jennifer Aniston happens to be staying there, you'd be well advised to keep it to yourself.
Terry Siegler, a shuttle bus driver at the Encantado Resort in Santa Fe, says that he was fired this week for confirming to hotel guests who thought they saw Jennifer Aniston in the spa that yes, the actress was indeed staying there, according to TMZ. We're guessing that Terry now thinks his hotel employers were "horrible bosses."
The guests were then talking about Jen amongst themselves later on, and this conversation was overheard by a member of Jennifer's team. Jennifer's pal mentioned the incident to the hotel management, and Terry was fired for violating the hotel's strict policy regarding celebrity privacy.
Terry says he didn't feel it would have been right to lie to the guests who asked him point-blank if Jen — star of films like Marley & Me and Horrible Bosses — was staying there. And he claims that his words about Jen were quite flattering, as he only said that she was "very sweet and much more petite than I thought." We're guessing he doesn't think Jen is so sweet anymore.
We can understand the hotel's need to make their celebrity guests feel secure, but we can't help but thinking this was a bit harsh, and that maybe a warning might have sufficed. Terry is considering suing for wrongful termination.
Evidently, no one told him life was gonna be this way.
