Just like the first rule of Fight Club is to NOT talk about Fight Club, the first rule of Christmas is to NOT question Santa’s existence — not out loud, at least.

Unfortunately, parents everywhere will have to explain why one of the biggest pop stars in the world proclaimed that believing in Santa was a lie. In a recent interview with AOL Music, Justin Bieber reveals, “My mom always told me there wasn't a Santa.” Gasp! Cover your ears, children! The Biebz continues, “This was her logic: She thought if I grew up knowing about Santa then finding out he wasn't real, that it would be like she was lying to me.”

“But I didn’t tell my friends or ruin it for anyone” he added. “I was a good kid.”

... Until now! Too bad for the large percentage of Beliebers who are most likely still, well, believers! D'oh!

Though he won’t be writing a Christmas letter to Santa anytime soon, Bieber — who will spend the holidays in his native Canada this year — does have a few Christmas wishes on his mind. “I just wish to be happy and that everyone be healthy in my family, “ he said. “And I wish that everybody gets to hear my Christmas album — and hopefully like it.”

With the year he’s had, chances are, everyone will... That is, if you’re last name’s not Kringle.
