Actor Lou Myers has sadly left this world.

The prolific actor, who was made famous as a star on the '80s TV show A Different World, died of a heart-related emergency on February 19, according to TMZ.

His age is listed online as 77 (although one source claims he was slightly older).

Lou had been hospitalized for pneumonia in December but was released earlier this year. He was hospitalized again after collapsing in his home a few weeks later.

He had amassed a long and impressive resume, with roles in such films as The Wedding Planner and 2010's It's Kind of a Funny Story, along with shows ranging from ER to NYPD Blue.

Lou is survived by his son.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
