One of TV's most beloved dads has passed away.
TV star Conrad Bain died of natural causes on January 14, according to TMZ.
Conrad is best known for playing the adopted father to Gary Coleman's character on Diff'rent Strokes from 1978 to 1985. He also played a main character on Maude in the mid-'70s.
"My father really was a lot like his character in Diff'rent Strokes," his daughter tells People. "He had that warmth and stability. He also was a very intellectual person."
Todd Bridges, who played Willis on the show, was shocked by Conrad's passing, as he had just spoken to him last week, and it seemed that everything was fine. Todd says he was looking forward to celebrating Conrad's 90th birthday with him next month.
"In addition to being a positive and supportive father figure both on and off-screen, Conrad was well-loved and made going to work each day enjoyable for all of us," Todd says. "He will be missed, but never forgotten."
Conrad leaves behind a twin brother and three sons.
