In February, country star Mindy McCready became the fifth Celebrity Rehab cast member to die in the span of two years, following Alice in Chains’ bassist Mike Starr, actor Jeff Conaway, police brutality victim Rodney King, and reality TV star Joey Kovar.

Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew aired for five seasons with celebs, then a sixth just as Rehab With Dr. Drew. But Dr. Drew himself —  Dr. Drew Pinsky — recently told Zach Sang and the Gang radio show that he’s “tired” of the VH1 show and wants to move on.

Here’s a portion of the radio interview:

Zach Sang radio show: "How's Celebrity Rehab? When do you shoot that again?"

Dr. Drew: "I don't have any plans to do that again."

Radio show: "What? Why?"

Dr. Drew: "I'm tired of taking all the heat. It's just ridiculous. ... And these are burdensome patients that I follow for long periods of time. We're still kind of treating the rehab patients from last year. ... These are really sick people, that's why they die. These are people with life-threatening addiction and we treat them the way we — Bob [Forrest], Shelly [Sprague] and I ran a problem for 20 years and we just do what we always do and let them run the cameras..."

Radio show: "So why no next season?"

Drew: "I'm tired. I'm really tired, and it's very stressful. It's very intense for me and to have people questioning my motives, and taking aim at me because people get sick and die because they have this life-threatening disease and ... I have to take the blame? Rodney King has a heart attack and I have to take the blame for that?"

As the face of the show, he does tend to be the one people go after whenever there’s a major issue with a celeb.

What do you think about this possible end to Celebrity Rehab? Good news or bad?
