Actresses preparing for major Hollywood roles all seem to have the same common fear: the perils of superstardom.
Emma Stone recently discussed this with Access Hollywood, as she prepares for the July release of the sure-to-be blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man.
“What scared me was the idea of, ‘What could happen to my life after doing something like this?,’” the actress admitted.
And she’s not alone. Twilight’s Kristen Stewart and more recently The Hunger Games’ Jennifer Lawrence have expressed similar concerns about taking on roles that already have legions of vocal fans.
In fact, it was Jennifer who helped Emma conquer her fears.
“I love Jennifer Lawrence and I watched a lot of her interviews for Hunger Games — it was kind of the same thing she was feeling,” Emma said. “But the part and the process outweighed that fear. What might happen [and] how [my] life could change didn’t feel like enough reason to not play Gwen.”
Though Emma is well-known now, she auditioned for the Spider-Man role the day Easy A was released, and when The Help was still in the process of filming, — so it makes sense that the rising starlet would have fears of her life changing.
We’re glad she took the role, and we bet she is too (now that she’s dating hottie Andrew Garfield)!
