Is Hermione getting Shade-y after all?
Emma Watson previously shot down an early rumor that she was in talks to play Ana in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation.
But that was a while ago, and it's possible things have changed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, online hacker collective "Anonymous" hacked into the internal server of German studio Constantin Film, stealing internal documents. As THR reports, "There was little that was new in the documents Anonymous stole — one has Emma Watson attached to star in Focus Features' upcoming 50 Shades of Grey adaptation, confirming a widely reported rumor — while the majority involve projects that have been announced or otherwise reported."
Constantin confirmed to THR that it had been hacked but said the documents stolen were out of date and widely accessible to many Constantin employees.
It's possible this is early Emma confirmation. However, there's so much misleading information flying around, it's better to just arch one eyebrow up in cynicism and wait for an "official" casting report. In late February, Fifty Shades author E.L. James told Page Six, "We don’t even have a filmmaker . . . so we are still a long way away from casting. I have some ideas . . . but it may not be who people expect."
So we're still waiting for official news! If this keeps dragging on, we're just going to have to cast ourselves as Ana. Opposite Ian Somerhalder. Or Matt Bomer. We might need some intense chemistry tests to really decide who is best for Christian...
