This lucky wordsmith is about to get in touch with her sexy side.
After narrowing their field of possibilities down to four, Universal Pictures and Focus Features have tapped screenwriter Kelly Marcel to write the script for the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation.
Best known for penning the short-lived FOX series Terra Nova and an upcoming Tom Hanks movie called Saving Mr. Banks, Kelly is well qualified to take on E. L. James’s erotic pop culture juggernaut.
Producer Dana Brunetti gushes (via The Wrap), “We were all taken with the depth and passion of Kelly’s engagement with the characters and world E. L. James has created, and we knew she was the right person to augment our Fifty Shades family.”
Our apologies to American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis, who was gunning for the screenwriter gig on Twitter. His Christian would’ve been seriously intense.
