Hollywood has had to make some quick changes in reaction to Friday’s Connecticut school shooting. Tom Cruise’s movie Jack Reacher postponed its premiere, and the family comedy Parental Guidance has done the same.

Also, the Associated Press reports that FOX has pulled the new episodes of Family Guy and American Dad that were to air tonight. The Family Guy episode had Peter sharing his own version of the nativity story and American Dad was going to tell the story of a demon that punished naughty children at Christmas. Reruns will air instead. FOX also said a scheduled repeat of The Cleveland Show was swapped for a different rerun of that series, due to the same sensitivity concerns.

Meanwhile, Saturday Night Live, which usually opens with a political sketch, chosen to launch last night’s episode with a children’s choir singing “Silent Night” in honor of the shooting victims.
