Michael Jacobs — who created Boy Meets World and is in charge of its sequel, Girl Meets World — was asked by Entertainment Weekly whether Cory and Topanga's teenage daughter, Riley, will be more like one parent than the other.
Michael confirms this will be the case, but he wouldn't yet reveal which parent she takes after more.
"She is going to be much more like one than the other, but that second parent will pop up in ridiculously unexpected times and places and add to the confusion of who this character is," Michael says.
As for Cory, Michael says the series will focus in part on his plans to become a teacher like his old pal, Mr. Feeney.
“He’s following in the footsteps of [Mr. Feeney], the most influential character in his life,” Michael says. “Should he be? Will he succeed? Can he influence children like Feeney influenced children?"
Michael says Cory is also struggling with being a parent.
"Cory Matthews doesn’t know how to be a father," he continues. "Topanga has always been much more certain than Cory. Cory has always been confused. That would never stop."
Girl Meets World's pilot goes into production this month, with the show recently having cast the characters of Riley and her best friend.
