We just got another reason to get excited about the upcoming Boy Meets World spin-off — as if we needed one more reason!
Michael Jacobs — who created Boy Meets World and is behind its upcoming ABC Family sequel, Girl Meets World — tells Entertainment Weekly that we're likely to see some familiar faces pop in, along with Cory and Topanga.
"I think there’s more than a chance," Michael says about such supporting characters as Cory's bestie Shawn and older brother Eric appearing if the series gets picked up. "I think there’s a strong chance."
It had previously been reported that Rider Strong, who played Shawn, didn't know if he would be asked to appear on the show.
Plus, Michael points out that he's talked to many members of the original show's supporting cast, and apparently everyone would be interested in appearing on the new show. Score!
As for reuniting with Ben Savage (Cory) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga), Michael says it's “the greatest possible thing that can happen.” Aww!
Calling them his surrogate children, Michael continues that “[hanging out with them] is gratifying and rewarding, and what I’m hopeful for is that there will be a vast audience who wants to hang out with them again as well.”
We're pretty sure Michael can rest assured that there is. Sign us up!
